Insurance Brokers – Guyana Limited (IBGL) pioneered the insurance broking industry profession in Guyana when it was founded by William Hansel Barrow in 1969 and it has provided a bespoke professional services for our clients ever since.

Rapid growth as a consequence of much early success led us to move to the iconic building on Carmichael Street in the heart of Georgetown, a location that has been our home ever since.

Our team of subject matter experts continue to set the benchmark for the broking/consulting profession, ensuring that our clients’ needs underpin everything that we do.

IBGL is licensed by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance to sell all insurance policies. Our scope of insurance cover can be found here. We recognise the importance of placing our clients’ business with insurers that are well managed and financially sound.  Our own financial analysts help us to ensure that we utilise insurers that can be expected to fulfill their contractual obligations to our clients. We communicate and actively engage our clients during the consultation process as the selection of underwriters requires cooperation and diligence.

We have the distinction of being the accredited AON representative in Guyana; AON is one of the world’s largest Brokers with offices based worldwide. This much-valued relationship is testament to our longstanding and ongoing strength in the industry.

Along with the day to day management of the company, Mrs Curtis also had the responsibility for Staff Development and Training.

Adrian has recently returned to Guyana from UK where he has built a career as a well-respected Management Consultant to some of the largest companies in the world (BP, British American Tobacco, Nestle, Unilever to name a few), in various countries around the world.

He was also the founder of a digital marketing and social media company and we are pleased to have his services as a consultant to the company as we embark on a digital transformation journey, as well as his all round business experience.
